There are some terrorist groups such as ISIS in the Islamic world, backed by the non-Islamic western states, claim that they are representing Islam and also they are trying to establish Islamic caliphate or state. But, unfortunately they misuse the name of Islamic state to deceive the young Muslim generation. If we study their beliefs and practices we find out that ISIS has nothing to do with Islam.
The holy Quran as the main source of Islamic teachings, for all the different Islamic sects, prohibits the extremism exhibited by ISIS introducing moderation as the essential part of the faith. The holy Quran states clearly: “We made you to be a community of the middle way, so that (with the example of your lives) you might bear witness to the truth before all mankind.” What Quran means by the middle way is totally opposed to the extremism and terrorism.
Those international coalitions that claim to be fighting against terrorists are not trustworthy in any way because these destructive forces – particularly America – are the ones that stand behind the scenes of creating and supporting terrorists such as DAESH (ISIS). The outright enemies of Islam and the enemies that show enmity in the name of Islam are the two blades of the same pair of scissors. In the face of such dangerous enemies, Islamic countries should safeguard their own identity and interests by increasing their cooperation. Pinning one’s hopes on the west’s and America’s support and assistance in fighting against terrorist such as DAESH and Boko Haram is a wrong course of action. According to precise information that we have, the Americans and some reactionary governments in the region are directly helping DAESH. ~Ayatollah Khamenei, 11/23/2015
Shooting down a woman in the middle of a street for the crime of protesting against a soldier who is armed to the teeth- if this is not terrorism, what is it? This barbarism, because it is being done by the armed forces of an occupying government, should not be called extremism? Or maybe only because these scenes have been seen repeatedly on television screens for sixty years, they should no longer stir our consciences.

The political leaders of arrogance say, "We should disarm Hamas and Jihad". What does it mean to disarm these groups? It means that these groups have a number of missiles with which they can somehow defend themselves in the face of the incessant attacks of the enemy. They say, "We should even take away these few missiles from them". From their viewpoint, Palestine - including Gaza - should be in such a condition that the enemy can attack and fire on it whenever it wants. And Palestine should not be able to defend itself at all. This is what they want.
The President of America has issued a "fatwa" saying that the resistance should be disarmed. Of course, it is clear that you want it to be disarmed so that it cannot deliver any blow against these crimes. But we say that the opposite should happen. The entire world - particularly the world of Islam - should provide the people of Palestine with as many weapons as they can.
